A Rumbolo Family Web Site Production

There are a surprising number of sites on the web about Ernest Shackleton, and the Endurance expedition, the following is a selection of sites I can recommend:

Recommended Links:

First and foremost I would have to list the site created by Sir Ernest Shackleton's descendants.  This informative site is full of information not only about the Trans-Antarctic expedition, but Sir Ernest's other expeditions and explorations. This site has an extensive list of books and films about "The Boss".  Definitely a must visit site!

The definitive site on the Trans-Antarctic Expedition photographer Frank Hurley.  An interesting site with diary excerpts, photographs and more. Frank Hurley's photographic and movie documentation of the Trans-Antarctic expedition is remarkable and captures both the beauty and terrible hardship of Antarctica.

A site sponsored by Kodak Film about the Trans-Antarctic Expedition, it has an interesting collection of photographs by Frank Hurley as well as some interactive features.  Worth a look.

Ernest H. Shackleton From the South-Pole web site, a short biography of Ernest Shackleton. Also includes cross-links to other Antarctic explorers of the period.

A good personal page in tribute to Ernest Shackleton with particular emphasis on his earlier journeys including the Nimrod Expedition
